Zhang Ziyi is a Chinese actress. She first became widely known to international audiences after starring as the young sorceress Suyin in the film The Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, for which she won the Asia Pacific Film Award for Best Actress. She went on to win a second Asia-Pacific Film Award for her performance as a young widow in the 2001 Chinese drama Farewell, My Concubine. In 2003, she starred in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, for which she was nominated for Best Actress at the 74th Academy Awards and won a Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
